I love Pleasant Hill, but not everyone is familiar with this pretty community nestled in the rolling hills of the East Bay with great parks, trails, and schools. Pleasant Hill also has a fabulous Rec Center and Senior Center with programs for the whole family making it a really great place for families and singles alike.
Downtown Pleasant Hill is the vibrant heart of the city, offering a bustling mix of shops, restaurants, and entertainment options. Residents enjoy a diverse selection of eateries, from Italian to sushi, and can take in a movie at the nearby Century 16 Theater. The downtown area is also home to seasonal events and festivals, such as the summer farmers' market and the Pleasant Hill Art, Music, and Wine Festival this weekend, May 20/21. It's always a wonderful event!
Great Pleasant Hill Neighborhoods
Each of Pleasant Hill's unique neighborhoods has its own unique charm and character. Let’s check out a handful of my favorites.
Poet's Corner
Poet's Corner is a dreamy, charming residential neighborhood known for its tree-lined streets and cozy homes. Many of the houses were built in the 1950s and 1960s, giving the area a vintage feel. The neighborhood is named after its streets, which are named after famous poets such as Keats, Longfellow, and Tennyson. Poet's Corner is also close to several parks and trails, including Paso Nogal Park and the Contra Costa Canal Trail.
Valhalla
Valhalla is a peaceful residential neighborhood located in the northern part of Pleasant Hill. The area is known for its spacious homes and large lots, providing residents with plenty of room to spread out. Valhalla is also home to several parks with playgrounds, picnic areas, and sports fields.
Gregory Gardens
Known for its mid-century charm, Gregory Gardens is a well-established neighborhood in Pleasant Hill. The area features a mix of ranch-style and contemporary homes. It offers a strong sense of community, with neighborhood events and an active community association. Residents enjoy close proximity to parks, schools, and shopping centers, making it a convenient and desirable place to live.
