HONESTY IS STILL THE BEST POLICY

Have you ever considered the most important trait of a realtor?

Buying or selling a property is a significant financial decision, and having the right realtor is essential to ensure a successful transaction. There are many qualities that a good realtor should possess, such as communication skills, knowledge of the local market, and professionalism. However, there is one trait that stands out as the most important of all: honesty.

Honesty reigns supreme

When surveyed, consumers ranked honesty as one of the most important traits of a real estate agent. And it's easy to see why.

Honesty is the foundation of any successful real estate transaction. A realtor who is honest with their clients builds trust and credibility, which are essential to maintaining a good relationship. Honesty means that a realtor will tell you the truth, even if it's not what you want to hear.

For example, if a property you're interested in has significant issues that could be costly to repair, an honest realtor will inform you of these issues upfront, even if it means losing a potential sale. An honest realtor will NEVER put their needs ahead of the needs of a client.

In addition to being honest with their clients, an honest realtor is also honest with themselves. It’s important for realtors to understand their limitations and not take on a transaction they cannot handle or promise something they cannot deliver. An honest realtor will also not cut corners or take shortcuts to close a deal. Instead, they will do everything in their power to ensure a successful transaction, even if it means more work, a longer timeline, or greater financial outlay.
